Bringing back childhood memories with Bakheer : a dessert made with glutenous rice and jaggery.


- 2 tbsp glutenous rice.

- 2 tbsp jaggery

- 1/4th tsp cardamom powder

- 300ml water

For decoration:

- Sliced almond

- Sliced pistachio

- Pomegranate pearls.


Wash the rice well under running water. In a pot cook the rice till it is soft and well cooked. Add the jaggery and keep stirring it. Rice will become thick and sticky.

It must be served hot after you have decorated it with the sliced dry fruits and the Pomegranate pearls.

As a variation you can add chocolate chips to the rice while it is cooking for children.
