FOR BETTER DIGESTION AFTER FOOD - Chew on quarter to half a teaspoon of Fennel, 1 or 2 pods of Cardamom, and 1 clove ( if you are feeling brave ). Half an hour after your meal you can add 5 to 6 fresh mint leaves to hot water and sip it. Fennel can stimulate the appetite before a meal and aid in digestion post-meal. Cardamom relieves food stagnation in the gastrointestinal tract. It is also the number one mucus destroyer. Clove when eaten in moderation increases the digestive fire. Mint. Spring and summer is the best time to eat mint. Clears all forms of stagnation in the body. Prevents and facilitates the release of gas. It is the traditional remedy for indigestion. It also helps to digest meat. We often hear of mint sauce with lamb.
